    Surya Namaskar (the sun salutation) is a practice that aligns body, breath, and intention. Each posture becomes an opportunity to awaken, explore, and unite with a specific state of being. Class typically includes invigorating vinyasa that ignites warmth, deeply focused individual postures, and finishes with a nourishing savasana. The result is pure, refreshing energy within a strong body, calm mind, & peaceful heart.

It's a great way to set your evening into a good space and to pave the way for a sound night’s sleep at the start of the week! Class is held on Zoom.

Tuesday

  • Turning Tuesdays

    -

    The turning salutation is a vinyasa form that is inspired by the structure and sequence of surya namaskar, the sun salutation. As with sun salutations, the progression of the sequence begins and ends standing at the front of the mat, with downward-facing dog serving as a pivot in the middle of the cycle. Unlike the sun salutation, turning salutations include asanas that involve rotation and sidebending. Turning salutations encourage healthy movement in the body in all planes and directions. The turning salutation supports strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination, and is highly adaptable to different needs, interests, and capacities.

    This is an intermediate-level class. Previous experience with yoga is a prerequisite. Injuries or movement restrictions are not a barrier to attendance. We work with where you are.

  • Tuesday Fundamentals with Eric

    This is a fundamentals class with Eric that is appropriate for beginners, as well as more experienced students wanting guidance and refinement of their yoga practice.

    This is an experienced class with Eric that is appropriate for people who are comfortable with greater physical intensity in asana practice, and are also able to manage longer cycles of inhalation, exhalation, and pause within the breath. Class is held on Zoom.

  • Yoga With Resistance

    The use of external weight (such as a sandbag) in yoga practice offers fresh perspective and possibilities for both active and restful practice. In this class we will investigate the myriad ways in which a sandbag can be used to amplify and clarify asanas, movement, rest, breathing, and even meditation. If you are doing the class online, it will work best if you have either a 12 pound sandbag, ankle weights, or a bag of dried beans, grain (not flour!), or pet food.

    This is an intermediate class with Eric that is appropriate for people who are comfortable with greater physical intensity in asana practice, and are also able to manage longer cycles of inhalation, exhalation, and pause within the breath. Class is held on Zoom.

  • Saturday Morning Intermediate with Eric

    This is an intermediate class with Eric that is suitable for people who are familiar with wide footed standing poses, and are comfortable with bearing weight on the arms and wrists in plank poses.
