To give your health and wellbeing the attention they deserve, a few key things make a big difference:

  1. A SPACE: It is important to have a place where you can go and know you will be received as you are, a space that is dedicated to your practice and your wholeness. The space is a safe container in which your personal transformation can happen.

  2. A GUIDE: Having a teacher to show you the way takes some of the burden off you. You don’t have to figure out everything on your own.

  3. A PRACTICE: Many people want to do an activity such as yoga but just don’t know how to go about it. Practice provides the structure necessary for your learning, both with and without a teacher.

  4. A COMMUNITY: This is where it becomes fun.  When good folks surround you, it bolsters enthusiasm, confidence, and enjoyment. Then, you are more likely to return to the practice regularly and stay with it for the long term, without it feeling effortful.  In community, you feel nourished in a way that’s difficult to find when trying to do it all on your own.

At Solaluna, we’ve put a lot of thought into how these four elements work best in combination.  We take care of these things for you, so that what you need to do is simplified.

We offer a range of classes and programs to serve you on every step of your journey from beginner to experienced practitioner:

What to Expect

Nervous?  Unsure?  If you are coming to the studio for the first time, it is normal to feel a little shy.  We want to make you feel welcome.  Knowing a little about how we do things here can help.

  • Classes on the schedule are designated by level 1-4 (click on the class to view level and descriptions). If you have not done yoga before, we recommend a level 1 class.  Don’t hesitate to contact us if you are unsure about what class you should attend.

  • Wear clothing that is comfortable for moving.  Belts and jeans don’t work so well.

  • Yoga works best in bare feet.  Feel free to wear socks into the studio, but please leave shoes in the hall, outside our office.

  • We have mats and other props that you are welcome to use at no charge during class.  If you prefer to bring your own, feel free.

  • In most classes, there are times when you are moving and times when you are still.  Many of our classes include periods of seated meditation and resting poses, in addition to active practice.

  • We provide filtered water.  You are also welcome to bring your own; we ask that it be in a sealed container.

  • We do our best to keep the studio at a temperature that is comfortable and safe for practicing yoga.  It is hard to please everyone in this regard, so wear clothing layers according to your preferences.  We do not offer hot yoga.
